Collier Row food bank supporting those in need.

The Collier Row food bank was out distributing free bags of food to the community yesterday once again.

The Khalid Saleem Foundation has been giving out free bags of food to those in need for two weeks in a row.

The team stood outside the North Romford Community Centre in Clockhouse Lane handing out bags of food on Sunday 22nd of December.

The purpose of the Khalid Saleem foundation is to support the underprivileged and less fortunate members of the community.

Romford Labour’s Angelina Leatherbarrow was there again to help hand out food alongside Conservative Councillor Christine Vickery who donated many food bags containing food and gifts for those in need.

Councillor Vickery told the Havering Daily:

It was a pleasure to visit the Food Bank which has been organised by The Iqra Cultural Centre.

I was greeted with a very warm welcome as I dropped off food, goodies and gifts. Bustling busy volunteers were happily packing bags for residents.

Thank you so much to Lesley Haylett and Ella Rayment on behalf of Collier Row Community Group who donated generously with food, treats and Christmas goodies.”
