BREAKING VIDEO: Fire at Rainham wasteland.


Six fire engines and around forty firefighters were called just after eight am this morning to a fire at a wasteland in Rainham.

The area of wasteland along Launders Lane is 1.5 hectares in size and small pockets of the wasteland were alight in this large area.

It is believed that these small pockets of fires have been burning for six months since the original fire broke out.

Firefighters have struggled to keep the fire under control as the area is difficult for water to reach. It is believed that the fire is now under control.

Launders Lane Closed

Crews from Harold Hill, Dagenham, Hornchurch and other surrounding areas were at the scene and the cause of the fire is still unknown.
