Calling all bell ringers or anyone interested in being a bell ringer!
The Havering Daily was invited to spend Monday evening with St Edward’s Church bell ringers. The church in Romford market, is the oldest in the borough.
Bell ringer June Gray told the Havering Daily, ‘The bells here date from the 13th hundred century. So we have some real medieval bells that have been kept together over many hundreds of years.’
The team currently do not have enough bell ringers and have to borrow the services of other bell ringers from outside the area.
If you are interested in becoming a bell ringer, please pop along to St Edward’s church in the market place in Romford on a Monday night at 7.45pm. No experience needed!
